Today AvisNocturna visited and we crafted. I own this cute little book which covers the basics of how pictures have an emotional impact.

There are some exercises to do with cut paper in the end.
So the task we assigned to ourselves was to "convey the essence of birds attacking a victim" with simple shapes. This was actually a lot harder than it might seem! It took us so long and there were other tasks that were like "do a sequence of 5 or 6 pictures" and we were like "oh nooo it's going to take a week". ;)

I started this as an overpainting of someone else's picture but it kind of got out of hand. I couldn't finish it because my PC wasn't up to it and now it's so old and I would paint a lot of stuff differently :(

I'll try to show lots of art this isn't exclusivly a sketchlog though. I'll post about whatever catches my fancy ;)
First a quickish study after a Watts painting. I always enjoy doing these, but I'm afraid they are rather boring to look at?


I also went to the opera today and the staging was rather abysmal BUT on the pro side the guys looked rather hot and were totally gay for each other. teh. So I drew this quick impression when I was home again xD (they all had these kind of hairstyles, oh it was soooo funny!)
